Trump, Zelensky won’t meet this weekend as planned

30 August 2019

U.S. President Donald Trump won’t visit World War Two
commemorations in Warsaw this weekend owing to a powerful hurricane approaching
Florida, news media reported. As a result, Ukrainian President Zelensky’s
meeting with the U.S. president, planned for Sept. 1, won’t occur.

Zenon Zawada: Numerous topics and agenda items will change by the time Zelensky is
able to finally meet with Trump, which won’t be for another several weeks, at minimum.
What’s certain is Zelensky is counting on close cooperation with the U.S.,
especially after his Aug. 28 proposal for direct U.S. involvement in the
Normandy Four peace talks to resolve the conflict in Donbas.
