Tymoshenko Denies Theft Of Russian Gas.

12 July 2008

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said yesterday that Naftogas Ukrainy has never and will never use any Russian gas that has not been stipulated for Ukrainian use in contracts with Russia. The PM’s comments came in response to a statement made by Russian President Valdimir Putin who said that Russia would only continue to work with Ukraine in the gas sector if the Ukrainian side gave guarantees that they would not steal Russian gas. Tymoshenko said that all gas flows through Ukraine have been documented and that no one should try to humiliate Ukraine by suggesting things that are not true.
