U.S. To Lift Jackson-Vanik Restrictions Against Ukraine.

U.S. Senator Richard Lugar announced that the Senate had approved a draft law to repeal the Jackson-Vanik Amendment for Ukraine.  The Jackson-Vanik Amendment was originally imposed on the USSR in 1974, and put strict tariffs on Soviet imports. The amendment is still in effect for most CIS countries including Russia.
