Ukraine 5M18 retail sales slow to 6% yoy growth

Ukraine’s 5M18 retail sales in real terms increased
6.1% yoy, decelerating from 7.0% yoy growth in 4M18, Ukraine’s State Statistics
Service reported on June 20. In 5M17, retail sales grew 7.1% yoy.

 

Regionally, the highest growth occurred in the
Ukraine-controlled Luhansk (24.6% yoy growth), Poltava (10.2%) and Vinnytsia
(9.8%) regions, while growth was slowest in Chernivtsi (0.9%), Kharkiv (2.2%)
and Kirovohrad (2.5%).

 

Evgeniya Akhtyrko: We anticipate retail sales to pick up amid expected disinflation during
the summer months. We expect real retail sales to grow 7%-8% yoy in 2018.
