Ukraine Auto Sales Are Up 42% in 9M06

27 October 2008

Total automobile sales in Ukraine reached 272,000 in 9M06, up 42% yoy, according to the company Auto-Consulting. The company says improvements in providing loans and credits to consumers were a driving force. Lada led the way with 32% of sales in 9M06, followed by Daewoo (13%), Chevrolet (9%) and ZAZ (9%). Olha Pankiv: We expect at least a 40% increase in automobile sales in 2006, as sales are now picking back up following decreased sales after the implementation EURO-2 ecological standards for automobile engines in July.
