Ukraine Begins Exporting Electricity To Russia

Yesterday Ukrinterenergo announced that it had begun exporting of electricity to Russia according to the contract signed on October 25 with Inter-RAO-UES. Alexander Paraschiy:  Ukrinterenergo begin exporting energy to Russia a week late to do some bureaucratic snags, however, according to the one-year contract Ukraine will supply Russia 140-550 GWh of electricity monthly. This will raise demand for Ukrainian electricity by about 2.0%-2.5% decreasing excess capacity supplies on the local market
