Ukraine collects 36.7 mln mt of grain

Agriculture Minister Yuriy Melnik told journalists yesterday at a press conference that Ukrainian agricultural producers have completed their grain harvesting campaign and have collected 36.7 mln mt of grain. Melnik said the average yield was 2.84 mt/ha (vs. 3.40 mt/ha in 2008). Ukrainian producers planted a total of 27 mln ha with agricultural crops in 2009 (12.9 mln ha with spring crops).
