Ukraine could get USD 400 mln from IBRD for banks

Ukraine could take out a USD 400 mln loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a member of the World Bank group, to help shore up the financial sector, Interfax said yesterday, citing an announcement on the Cabinet of Ministers website. Further details were not provided. The loan could represent a portion of the previously announced World Bank commitment to provide USD 750 mln to recapitalize Ukrainian banks.
