Ukraine exports 8.5 ths mt sugar since beginning of 2009

Ukrsugar, Ukraine’s national association of sugar producers, said yesterday that in 2M09 the country exported 8.5 ths mt of sugar, the same volume as it did in full-year 2008. The country’s main export destinations have been Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. At the same time, Ukrsugar representatives reported that the Ukraine has practically stopped importing sugar (it imported 80.1 ths mt in 2008).
