Ukraine Moves Up 8 Spots In International Corruption Survey

Ukraine moved up eight places to 99th on Transparency international’s 2006 Corruption Perception Index with a score of 2.8. Ukraine’s rating ties it with Georgia for the second highest rating among CIS countries behind Moldova (3.2) at 79, but ahead of Russia (2.5) at 121. Transparency International surveys business people and analysts from 163 countries to produce its ratings. Ukraine has improved its standing every year for the last three years.
