Ukraine plans to privatize Odesa Portside Plant in spring 2018

Ukraine plans to privatize Odesa Portside Plant in spring 2018

22 September 2017

Ukraine’s State Property Fund intends to put nitrogen
fertilizer producer for sale in spring 2018, according to its Sept. 21 press
release. The fund is going to complete evaluation of the plant by November
2017, acting head Vitaliy Trubarov said. A week ago, deputy head Dmytro
Parfenenko said the plant’s privatization could start by the year end.

Recall, the fund tried to sell the plant twice in
2016, for UAH 13.18 bln (USD 526 mln) in July and for UAH 5.16 bln (USD 200 mln)
in December, but found no bidders. The plant’s privatization is a part of
Ukraine’s deal with the IMF under its Extended Funds Facility program.
