Real wages in Ukraine grew 12.5% yoy in April,
accelerating from 9.5% yoy growth in March, the State Statistics Service
reported on May 30. The average monthly nominal wage increased to UAH 8,480 a
month (USD 324) from UAH 8,382 in March, which is 0.4% m/m growth in real
terms.
The leading regions for average monthly wages remained
the city of Kyiv (UAH 13,150), the Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk region (UAH
9,982) and the Kyiv region (UAH 8,859).
The largest nominal average wage growth was in public
services (44% yoy), transportation (33% yoy) and agriculture (31%). Within the
industrial sector, the highest nominal wages remained in pharmaceuticals (UAH
17,356), mining (UAH 12,735), and coke and oil processing (UAH 12,049).
