9 July 2020

Ukraine will be able to avoid a second wave of the coronavirus, enabling the
reopening of schools on Sept. 1. Moreover, Ukraine doesn’t have adequate
Internet coverage nationally to conduct schooling at home, he noted. He urged
the public to take the necessary precautions to prevent the virus’ spread.

Cases of the COVID-19 disease caused by the
coronavirus reached 810 on July 8, according to statistics of the National
Security and Defense Council released this morning. That’s compared to 807 new cases
on July 7, and 564 on July 6. An estimated 21 people died, while 665 recovered.
The most cases were in the Lviv region (119) and the city of Kyiv (93).

Zenon Zawada: The
infection rate is moving towards a possible third splash of the first wave. Otherwise,
the overall situation with COVID-19 in Ukraine is stable.
