Ukraine To Diversify Its Supply Of Nuclear Fuel.

The Fuel and Energy Ministry is considering using US-based Westinghouse as an alternative supplier of fuel for Ukrainian nuclear plants starting in 2007. Currently, Russia?s TVEL supplies all fuel to Ukrainian NPPs. Concorde Capital: Diversifying fuel sources is in line with the country?s strategy to increase fuel independence. However, the best way for Ukraine to increase its independence is by developing its own industry for the mining and processing of uranium. The most likely partner for Ukraine in this sphere would be TVEL.
