Ukraine’s GDP growth accelerates to 10.9% yoy in August

According to the State Statistics Committee, real GDP jumped 10.9% yoy for the month of August vs. 7.3% yoy in July; growth in 8M08 totaled 7.1% yoy. Andrii Parkhomenko: Notably, in August the growth was propelled by agriculture alone, which grew 24.4% yoy, driven by the bumper harvest and plentiful investments. Growth in all other sectors slowed last month; as we reported earlier, industrial output shrank 0.5% yoy on the month.
