According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the country’s money supply grew 0.3% during the month of October (20.9% YTD) to UAH 479 bln (USD 82.7 bln). They monetary base expanded 1.5% mom (22.2% YTD) to UAH 173.4 bln (USD 29.9 bln). Notably, M0, which encompasses cash out of banks, surged 9.5% mom, as people withdrew deposits and turned them into cash. Deposits in the national currency shrank 9.2% mom in October.
