Ukrainian Laptop Sales Rise 78.8% yoy in 2007

Sales of laptops in Ukraine increased by 78.8% yoy to USD 432.6 mln in 2007, said electronics retailer AVentures Group in a press release. The number of units climbed 87.2% yoy to 515 ths, while the average selling price decreased 4.5% yoy to USD 840 in 2007. Alexander Viktorov: For the second year in a row, laptops continued to be one of the fastest growing consumer electronic segments in Ukraine. We see the trend as favorable for Ekvin (KVIN: BUY), Ukraine’s only traded CE retailer, which generates around 1/3 of its retail turnover from PC sales. During 2007, Ekvin’s laptop sales grew by 77% yoy to USD 26 mln.
