Ukrainian Peacekeepers To Leave Iraq By Mid-October

1 April 2008

President Yuschenko said the decision to withdraw Ukrainian peacekeepers from Iraq was coordinated with coalition partner countries. Concorde Capital: Yushchenko’s statement is an attempt to mitigate the negative impact his decision to withdraw peacekeepers may have on relations with the United States, on the verge of his visit. In exchange for removing its troops, Ukraine may have agreed with the US and other coalition members to increase its business involvement in Iraq. This could be beneficial for a number of Ukrainian companies, such as AvtoKRAZ (KRAZ?BUY), which will deliver over 4,000 high-payload trucks to Iraq by 2007.
