Ukrprombank recapitalization would require UAH 9 bln

3 August 2009

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said on Friday that Ukrprombank’s recapitalization calls for funds in the order of UAH 9 bln, RBK-Ukraine reported. Tymoshenko added that the government is not in a position to allocate such funds, but that questions about the bank’s future would be addressed in the coming week. Tymoshenko said that it is currently being proposed to transfer deposit accounts from Ukrprombank and Nadra Bank (NADR) to one of the state-owned banks – either Oshchadbank or Ukreximbank. Andrii Parkhomenko: We think that Ukrprombank is most likely to be liquidated.
