Ukrros targets increasing sugar beet harvest 33.7% yoy in 2009

Ukrros (UROS) said that it plans to increase its harvest of sugar beets by 33.7% yoy to 702 ths mt in 2009, Ukrainian News reported yesterday. Ukrros said it is also targeting an increase in its harvest of winter wheat by 86.7% yoy to 99 ths mt, barley by 103.5% yoy to 85.5 ths mt, corn by 99.2% to 47.0 ths mt, and soy by 14.3% yoy to 0.8 ths mt. Andriy Gostik: The expected increase in Ukrros’ harvest corresponds to an increase in the area of sown land in 2009: this year the company sowed 100.8 ths ha with crops vs. 55 ths ha in 2008.
