Ukrtelecom privatization unlikely in 2009 – Acting SPF Head

The privatization of Ukrtelecom (UTLM), Ukraine’s state-owned monopoly fixed-line telephone operator, is unlikely in 2009, Acting Head of the State Property Fund Dmitry Parfenenko said yesterday, according to Interfax. Parfenenko said that the country is still working to improve the attractiveness of the company to investors and that privatization could take place next year, at the earliest.
