25 May 2009

According to the Ukrtelecom’s (UTLM) press release, the company has increased flat monthly charge for its customers. Charges for urban customers were raised by 15%-20%, while charges for rural customers grew by 10%. As before, flat monthly charges contain 200 free minutes for local calls per month. Tariffs per minute in excess of the monthly limit remained unchanged. Alexander Paraschiy: This was the last stage of a two-step local tariff increase process, which was initiated by Ukrtelecom more than a year ago. Since October 2008, Ukrtelecom increased local fixed telecom tariffs by an average of 20%. The latest increase will allow Ukrtelecom to generate additional UAH 180-200 mln in 2009, or about 2.5% of the company’s estimated revenue.
