Ukrzaliznytsya announces buying plans for 2012-2017

12 July 2011

Ukrainian state railway transport monopoly Ukrzaliznytsya announced plans about to buy 5 ths freight railcars in 2012 and 500 locomotives in 2012-2017, Interfax reported yesterday. Ukrzaliznytsya expects to get financing for its purchases from private investors. Vitaly Gorovoy: While we doubt the chronically underfunded Ukrzaliznytsya will be able to secure the financing it is seeking, the news is moderately positive for Kryukiv Wagon (UX: KVBZ UK) and Stakhaniv Wagon (UX: SVGZ UK). An order of 5 ths freight railcars is more than half the annual output of each of these companies. Moreover, the news could be also benefit Luhanskteplovoz (UX: LTPL UK), which has not received stable orders from the state in recent years.
