Ukrzaliznytsya plans to spend UAH 5 bln to prepare for Euro-2012

Ukrzaliznytsya’s draft plan to prepare for the European 2012 Football Championship foresees UAH 4.9 mln in spending, according to Mykola Lukhanin, first deputy general director of Ukrzaliznytsya (via Interfax). This year the state-owned railway operator plans to buy 150 passenger wagons, 6-10 locomotives, 5 rail buses and repair 1,000 passenger wagons. The plan also envisages the modernization of Ukraine’s railway infrastructure on key routes. Alexander Paraschiy: realization of Ukrzaliznytsya’s plan will bring more orders to passenger railcar producer Kryukiv Wagon (KVBZ) and locomotive producer Luhanskteplovoz (LTPL).
