UMC Obtains CDMA License.

Mobile operator UMC obtained a license to launch a CDMA-450 mobile network. The company plans to use the license to provide high-quality data transmission to current GSM mobile customers. Alexander Paraschiy: UMC is the first GSM operator to obtain a CDMA license, which gives UMC a competitive advantage. The new frequencies allow the company to expand wireless data services without decreasing the quality and capacity of its voice services.
