URS To Launch Fourth Mobile Brand?

The fourth largest Ukrainian mobile operator, URS, (recently acquired by Russia’s Vimplecom) will launch the Russian brand BEE-LINE in Ukraine by May 2006. The company will receive all the necessary permissions to implement the brand. Currently, URS provides mobile services under three local brands, which are the least popular among Ukraine’s mobile brands. Concorde Capital: It looks like Vimpelcom is going to develop its mobile brand in Ukraine, despite opposition by Telenor, one of the Vimpelcom’s main shareholders. Telenor does not want URS to compete with its other Ukrainian mobile brand, Kyivstar, on the same market. WATCH.
