Voestalpine AG to construct steel plant in Ukraine

Austrian Voestalpine AG will construct a steel plant in Odesa region, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said yesterday at a joint press conference in Kyiv with Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer. Tymoshenko said that the total cost of the project would be EUR 5 bln. According to Interfax’s sources in the Ukrainian government, the plant is expected to be brought on stream by 2012 and have a total capacity of 5 mln mt of steel p.a.
