The World Bank presented its four priority funding areas in its country partnership strategy for Ukraine in 2012-2015 at an meeting yesterday in Kyiv, according to an announcement from the Cabinet of Ministers: roads & traffic safety, urban infrastructure, gas transport system modernization and social assistance. World Bank Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Martin Raiser said the document was developed in cooperation with the Ukrainian government. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Ukraine would seek World Bank financial support for several projects including construction of a subway system in Donetsk, extension of the Kyiv subway system into Troyeshchyna region, construction of a ring road around Kyiv and modernization of the gas transport system.
