President Viktor Yanukovych said on Friday at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting that there are no plans to replace Volodymyr Stelmakh as the head of Ukraine’s National Bank in the near future. Stelmakh’s five-year term expired in December. Mykyta Mykhaylychenko: We believe Stelmakh will be able to resist possible pressure to finance budget deficit by printing money, but still to cooperate with the government relatively effectively. His primary goal, most likely, will remain unchanged – to preserve UAH exchange rate stability.
