Yushchenko Awarded Chatman House Prize.

Queen Elizabeth II presented Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko with the Chatman House Prize in London yesterday, for his role in leading last year’s peaceful “Orange Revolution.”  Yushchenko is the first recipient of the prize, which is awarded every year to people have done the most to improve international relations. During his visit Yushchenko also met with British Prime Minister and current holder of the EU Presidency Tony Blair to discuss the upcoming EU-Ukraine summit in Ukraine this December. The Ukrainian President said he wants see the creation of a EU-Ukraine free trade zone in the next 12 to 25 months. ?Ukraine is a European nation and I will never accept the idea that it is not,? he was quoted by UPI as saying.
