Yushchenko favors more state financing of agriculture in 2009

President Viktor Yushchenko said on Wednesday at celebrations for the day of agricultural workers that he believed it was necessary to increase government support of the agriculture industry. According to him, financial support should be at least USD 2.5 bln. In 2008, agriculture financing from the state budget amounted to USD 2.1 bln, 40% more than in 2007.
