The nuclear power plants operated by Energoatom, increased electricity production by 2% yoy to 88.78 TWh. The company slightly decreased its share in total Ukrainian electricity output (from 48.0% to 47.9%), and decreased its total capacity load from 81.4% in 2004 to 75%. Concorde Capital: The excess of base-load capacities (supplied by nuclear power plants) on the Ukrainian energy market, led to Energoatom’s minimal output growth on the back of a 17% increase of installed capacity. However, demand for base load capacity will grow in late 2006 after commissioning of the first line of the Dnister pump storage hydro plant, which is able to make base load capacity maneuverable.
