Evrotek acquires Intermarket

Evrotek acquired Intermarket on March 13 in a non-cash deal, according to media reports. Daily Kommersant said that the Evrotek structured the deal by re-registering the corporate rights to Intermarket assets. Evrotek controls nine Fresh-branded supermarkets and six small-hypermarkets in Kharkiv, Kherson, Rivne, Yevpatoria, Kryviy Rih and Kerch; it was established in 1995. In 2008, Intermarket posted a net loss of UAH 167.2 mln; net income from sales of UAH 948.9 mln, and gross profit of UAH 133.6 mln.
