FDI In Ukraine Up 12.5% In 1Q06.

In January-March, the volume of foreign direct investments in the Ukraine’s economy rose by 12.5% or USD 2.0 bln, and amounted to USD 18.4 bln as of April 1, 2006. The largest volume of investments as of April 1, 2006 were recorded in the trade activity (USD 1.8 bln), metallurgy (USD 1.2 bln), and food industries (USD 1.2 bln). In 2005 FDI grew by 81% to USD 16.4 bln.
