Forbes: Ukraine billionaire list is mostly unchanged

The list of Ukraine’s richest people was mostly unchanged in 2012, compared to 2011, according to Forbes annual ranking of the world’s billionaires published last week. Rinat Akhmetov, owner of System Capital Management, Ukraine’s largest corporation, was no surprise at the top of the local list again (#39 globally, net worth: USD 16.0 bln). The most movement was at the bottom of the list of oligarchs: Petro Poroshenko, owner of a large confectionary and politician, made his debut on the list at #1153 with a net worth of USD 1.0 bln, while Oleg Bakhmatyuk, the businessman behind Avangard (AVGR LI), did not make the cut this year – he clocked in with a net worth of USD 1.0 bln in 2011.
