Georgian Government Considers Selling Its Gas Pipelines To Russia.

The Georgian Minister of Energy Nika Gilauri revealed yesterday that the country might sell its gas pipelines under a number of conditions, the most important of which being Gazprom’s agreement to sell natural gas to Georgia at preferential prices for 25 years. Concorde Capital: Previously Georgia flatly refused to negotiate the sale of its gas pipelines to Russia. If the sale does happen, Gazprom will substantially strengthen its position in the former Soviet region. The company already controls gas pipelines in Central Asia and partially controls pipelines in Belarus. Ukraine has refused to consider selling its pipelines.
