Government bond auction fails yesterday

Government bond auction fails yesterday

27 December 2011

Ukraine’s Finance Ministry raised a mere USD 0.1 mln via the sale of USD-denominated bonds yesterday and failed to sell any USD-indexed and standard UAH-denominated bonds. Vitaliy Vavryshchuk: The lack of interest in government bonds is most likely due to the holiday lull and we do not expect the situation to change in the next couple of weeks. We expect banks to return with bids (mainly for USD-denominated bonds) in mid-January, with yields remaining broadly unchanged from the recent December auctions.
