IMF changes Ukraine leadership

Nikolay Gueorguiev has replaced Christopher Jarvis as the IMF mission chief for Ukraine, the Fund reported on June 4. His tenure is effective immediately and his first visit will occur at the end of June. A citizen of Bulgaria, Gueorguiev last served as the IMF mission chief for Moldova and Croatia. The IMF appointed on May 1 Jerome Vacher as its resident representative in Ukraine, replacing Max Alier. The IMF is currently negotiating with the Ukrainian government on a new loan.
