IMF mission to return to Ukraine in September

IMF mission to return to Ukraine in September

2 August 2012

A mission from the International Monetary Fund will return to Ukraine in September to reassess the government’s budget and fiscal policies, First Vice Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky said this week. Khoroshkovsky reiterated the government’s position that gas and heating tariff hike for households, which the IMF has mandated to resume a frozen standby loan program, remained unrealistic. Khoroshkovsky met on Tuesday with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde in Washington, according to the Cabinet of Ministers website.
