Inflation Makes up 16.6% in 2007

According to the State Statistics Committee, CPI inflation made up 16.6% in 2007, the highest level since 2000. In December the CPI rose 2.1% mom. Inflation was driven mainly by food prices, which surged 22.9%. Non-food goods went up a mere 6%, while prices for services climbed 12%.
