Kernel HQ operations return to normal after government search

16 May 2016

Ukraine’s leading sunflower oil producer Kernel (KER PW) published on May 13 an open letter addressed to Ukraine’s top officials a day after the search of its headquarters by Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers, who locked down its 350 employees in the building between 13:00 to 19:00 on May 12. “All 15 documents seized by the SBU could have been handed over willingly within 10 minutes, as Kernel repeatedly offered to the SBU representatives,” the company said in the statement. The initiated case prompting the search is “based on distorted facts and has no prospects,” the company said. Currently, Kernel’s headquarters and all other divisions are operating as usual, the company said.
