Kolomoyskiy to Unite Chemical Producers in Consortium to Privatize Odesa Portside

3 April 2008

Ihor Kolomoyskiy, co-owner of the Privat group, said he planned to unite Ukrainian chemical factories in a consortium to participate in the privatization of the Odesa Portside Plant, according to Ukrainska Pravda. Kolomoyskiy said candidates for inclusion were Rivneazot, Azot Cherkasy (AZOT: N/R), Stirol (STIR: N/R) and Azot Severodonetsk. Vladimir Nesterenko: In our view, this is a brilliant idea, but time is a challenge (the auction must be held by May 4). Kolomoiskiy did not mention Privat’s Dniproazot (DNAZ: SELL), but we think it was implied that this plant would also enter the consortium.
