According to Interfax, Kryukiv Wagon (KVBZ) produced 608 wagons in May, five more than it planned. The company is planning to build another 600 in June. In 1Q07 Kryukiv Wagon produced 2,140 wagons. The company recently announced that it will launch additional production capacities that will allow it to boost production of passenger wagons to 300 per year (from the current 200 per year). Inna Perepelytsya: The company’s production targets continue to indicate it is increasing loaded capacity due to diversified sales, after suffering from its reliance on orders from Ukrzaliznytsya in 2006. Kryukiv Wagon increased production in 1Q07 by 66% yoy, as it exported 76% of total sales to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Iran. These new orders allowed the company to work at near full capacity so far this year. By comparison, the company used about half of its capacity in 2006 to produce 4,141 wagons.
