The second largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar failed to hold its 2005 AGM for the second time. Again, the absence of Storm representatives prevented the AGM from being held. Storm (related to Russia?s Alfa Group) controls 43.49% of Kyivstar. Concorde Capital: The failure of the AGM was expected, as the dispute between the main shareholders, Alfa and Telenor, about the entrance of Russian mobile operator Vipelcom to the Ukrainian market has not solved. The boycott of the Kyivstar AGM by Alfa representatives is one the tactics they are using to ?persuade? Telenor to vote for Vipelcom?s entrance onto the Ukrainian mobile market.
