Medvedev's office picks An-148 for Russia flying team

18 August 2009

The office of Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev said yesterday that it has selected Antonov An-148 for use by its Russia flying team in 2010. The team has already received two An-148s and has ordered two more, Vedomosti reported. According to the announcement, the An-148 beat out the Sukhoi Superjet and Tu-334. Yegor Samusenko: The Russian presidential administration’s preference for the An-148 gives it another marketing point over the Sukhoi Superjet, new on the market. For Motor Sich (MSICH), which produces engines for the An-148, the news is positive in the mid-term, though we do not see any immediate implication for the stock.
