Members of public hearing held at Nakhimovskiy District of Sevastopol voted yesterday to allow Metinvest Holding to build a universal transmission complex with capacity of 8.5 mln mt per annum. The project is estimated at USD 175.3 mln, including expenditures for environmental protection of USD 31.0 mln. The complex will consist of the only deep water port in Ukraine for ships with the deadweight of more than 100 ths mt. Andriy Gerus: The complex will be mostly used for imports of coking coal to Metinvest’s coke plants with flagship Avdiyivka Coke (AVDK: BUY). Earlier the building of the complex was blocked due to Sevastopol community that was unsatisfied with the complex’ impact on environmental protection.
