Ministry of Agrarian Policy improves its 2009 grain harvest forecast

According to Interfax, Ministry of Agrarian Policy reviewed its forecast of grain harvest in 2009 from 45 mln mt to 48 mln mt. The Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnik said that the forecast was changed due to satisfactory planting of winter and spring crops. In 2008, Ukraine harvested 53 mln mt of grain, an all-time high.
