Naftogaz to pay Gazprom by March 7 deadline

Naftogaz of Ukraine, according to Bloomberg yesterday, said it was in the process of preparing to make payment to Gazprom for imported natural gas from Russia by the March 7 deadline. The company is scheduled to pay USD 400 mln and is now converting the amount into US dollars. Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said he agreed with Naftogaz officials that the Ukrainian company would not be on the hook for gas it did not use in February.
