National Bank increases reserve requirements for currency deposits

The National Bank of Ukraine increased reserve requirements for foreign currency deposits with its regulation #442, effective January 5, 2009. Reserve requirement for term deposits were hiked from 3% to 4%, while requirement for current deposits was increased from 5% to 7%. Reserve requirements for deposits in the hryvnya remained at zero.
