Head of the National Energy Regulation Commission (NERC) announced there would be a possible increase in residential electricity tariffs by 20%. The current residential tariffs do not cover the cost of electricity supply. Concorde Capital: A 20% increase implies a new residential tariff of USD 37 per MWh.This tariff hike will not be sufficient to stop cross-subsidization of the population at the cost of industrial consumers (please refer to our February Oblenergo report). However, this could prevent further growth in electricity tariffs for non-residential consumers in the short term.
